About THIS PROJECT
This project is built around a simple idea. The internet fell in love with Kabosu’s (DOGE) cute face, but her story began with a rescue. Chibawan, a long standing Japanese animal welfare organization, took her in during a period when many Shiba Inu dogs were abandoned due to breeder collapse and careless litters. Their work spans medical care, spay and neuter programs, center withdrawals, adoption support and ongoing volunteer efforts. This project reconnects Kabosu’s global legacy with the people who continue to save animals like her every day.
Our visual direction draws from guardian themes inspired by Harambe and gentle angel symbolism. It represents Kabosu not as a meme to trade, but as a life that sparked a cultural moment. By pairing that story with a transparent donation structure, the project links nostalgia to real world impact. All creator fees route directly to the official wallet provided by Chibawan, ensuring contributions support their ongoing activities, public reporting and active rescue operations.
Why We Support Chibawan
Kabosu’s story is inseparable from the organization that saved her. Long before she became an internet icon, Chibawan stepped in during a period when Shiba Inu dogs were being abandoned in large numbers due to breeder shutdowns and unchecked litters. Their team provided medical care, spay and neuter procedures, vaccinations and the long process of rehabilitation that allowed dogs like Kabosu, Neiro and Cocoro to find safe homes.
